I start with a question:
My script centres around a teenage girl and her mother. Their relationship is disrupted by a third party but the 3P is a less important character than mother and daughter. I wanted a a visually strong opening scene that has immediate impact. So I wrote it with daughter and 3P appearing first.

However, I’ve been advised that my opening scene should feature the mother and daughter as they are the central characters ie that I shoud set up the relationship before I set about disrupting it via the 3P. I’ve re-written it and it makes more sense but has less immediate impact.

Any thoughts?
