The Stella awards - how to sue for more!

rehna February 26th, 2009

It’s time once again to review the winners of the annual “Stella
Awards.”

The Stella’s are named after 81-year old Stella Liebeck…who spilled
coffee on herself and successfully sued McDonald’s. That case
inspired the Stella awards for the most frivolous successful lawsuits
in the United States. Here are this year’s winners. Continue Reading »

The law is an ass!

rehna February 26th, 2009

These are from a book called Disorder in the American Courts, and are allegedly
things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published
by court reporters that had the torment of staying calm while these
exchanges were actually taking place. Continue Reading »

Kate Winslet - Blubbing for Britain & Oscar! by Rhena

rehna February 20th, 2009

“Mom, I’m at the Oscars!” gasped a man into his mobile and I knew I wasn’t the only one overwhelmed to be at the most glamorous event in the world.
I boldly pulled out my camera and snapped a shot of the gigantic Oscar beside me as well as of a passing Angelina Jolie. I was going to dine out on tales of that naked, golden man and Angie for the next month and I was prepared to out punch any gorilla security guard who tried to stop me recording the moment. rehna February 13th, 2009

A 13-year-old boy who fathered a child provoked a fierce political debate about whether Britain’s schools need better sex education. The case of baby-faced Alfie Patten - who was aged just 12 when the baby was conceived - exemplified the “complete collapse” of parts of society, it was claimed. Continue Reading »

Baftas 2009 - part 1

rehna February 10th, 2009

Sleet, rain, a touch of snow, British women (except Kate Winslet) ingeniously doubling their tablecloths and curtains as dresses, American actresses convincing themselves an awards show must mean hot weather and turning up in skimpy designer gowns – ah, it could only be the BAFTAS.
The British ‘Oscars.’ Continue Reading »

Baftas 209 -part 2

rehna February 9th, 2009

I have to break this news gently to you, sweet readers of assetsworld. Some journalists write porky pies. That’s right. They tell LIES. Not big, fat whopping ones necessarily but lies nonetheless. They embellish. They take a grain of truth and blow it up into a dark cloud of untruth. Continue Reading »

Christian Bales tirade

Peach February 4th, 2009

WARNING: THIS AUDIO CONTAINS GRAPHIC LANGUAGE

You may remember that Christian Bale went nuts on the set of “Terminator Salvation,” a few months back, threatening to stop production and beat some serious ass (Christian Bale went ballistic on movie set)

The incident was audiotaped, and it’s amazing. It happened on the set, after a director of photography accidentally ruined a scene by walking onto the set. Bale lost it, screaming, yelling and threatening to quit if the bosses didn’t fire the dude.

Film execs sent the tape to the insurance company that insured the film in case Bale bailed.

Bale Went Ballistic - TMZ.com

——–

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock somewhere you’ve seen or heard Christian Bales tirade. It seems Mr.Bale needs some anger management classes… I would say maybe his Momma needs to beat his butt but it seems Mr.Bale is a Momma hitter too.

In his movie 3:10 to Yuma with Russell Crowe (the noted bad boy of Hollywood) it was Bale who came off on the short end of the stick with bad publicity about his behavior.  As Mr.Crowe found out, it doesn’t take much for Hollywood to forget your number once your labeled difficult to work with. Mr.Crowe has been sucking up since his telephone days and is still revamping his image. Difference is Mr.Crowe is one hell of a actor while Mr.Bale is still making blockbuster movies for the bucks  and adoration of comic book readers.

As a peon I found his tirade to be demeaning, his refusal to accept the offered apology unkind.

At first I thought his behavior towards his family was just bad boy PR to direct the attention back on himself - after all he was the star of the mega block buster Batman but when Tom Cruise showed up suddenly he was kicked to the curb and it was all about Tom. Katie stood next to Tom taking in all that was due her as Tom’s wife - while Bale looked on. The second Batman comes out and again he’s second banana to Heath Ledger who is nominated for a Oscar (supporting actor) Perhaps thats the reason for the big unwarranted blow up at the lighting director. I should say the now unemployed lighting director.

As of yet Mr.Bales agents have not replied to any of the questions posed to them about their clients eruption, nor has Mr.Bale himself. The video has been the fodder of early shows, late shows, news, internet, blogs….

We are all aware the Hollywood elite think themselves above such things as decorum but it’s not often we are allowed in on the actual events. Mr. Bale got caught with his pants down but he’s not alone in his behavior, it’s just he got caught. Will it hurt his career? It didn’t seem to hurt Alex Baldwins career when he got caught treating his daughter less than……. fatherly.
